Certified Cyber Security Manager Automotive (CSMA) Training according to ISO 21434 (TÜV®)

With the support of the European Union, the DRIVES initiative defined skill sets for employees in the automotive sector to address the growing threats of cyberattacks on modern road vehicles. Together with msg Plaut Austria GmbH, TÜV AUSTRIA Academy now offers two training programs that enable relevant personnel within companies to incorporate cybersecurity throughout the entire product lifecycle.
This training provides participants working in management or product development with essential cybersecurity knowledge, with a focus on the automotive sector.

Module 1 – Cybersecurity Management (User Level)

Module 2 – Cybersecurity Operations and Maintenance (Expert Level)

• Cybersecurity processes and audits
• Incident response management
• Supply chain security
Module 3 – Technical Aspects of Cybersecurity (Awareness Level)
• System threat analysis and cybersecurity objectives
• System design and vulnerability analysis
• Software design and vulnerability analysis
• Software detailed design and cybersecurity
• Design of cybersecurity hardware and firmware
Module 4 – Cybersecurity Testing Aspects (Awareness Level)
• Cybersecurity validation at software level
• Cybersecurity validation at hardware level
• Cybersecurity validation at system level
The use of a dictionary is permitted during the examination.
Employees in the automotive industry and its suppliers, employees in mechanical engineering, certified safety specialists, mechatronics professionals, product developers, and purchasing staff.
The admission requirements for the certification exam are
• Proof of successful completion of the “Certified Cyber Security Manager Automotive according to ISO/SAE 21434 TÜV®” training offered by TÜV AUSTRIA Academy or an equivalent program
• Completed technical education (HTL, university of applied sciences, or university degree) in the field of cybersecurity/IT or at least six months of relevant professional experience with a minimum workload of 25 hours per week
The certification exam takes place after the end of the seminar and is a written exam (multiple choice).
Upon successful completion of the certification examination and fulfillment of all admission requirements, candidates will be awarded the TÜV AUSTRIA Personal Certificate Cyber Security Manager Automotive (CSMA) according to ISO 21434 TÜV®, which is valid for three years.

To extend your certificate for another three years, you need to present:
• the application for recertification
• Proof of specialist continuing education comprising at least 8 training units; alternatively, a written examination (Continuing education courses attended within 2 years before and up to 6 months after the expiration of the certificate are recognized.)
• Proof of at least 2 years of practical experience involving regular activities in the field of Automotive Cyber Security; alternatively, a technical interview (The practical experience must have been gained during the period between certification and re‑certification; it does not have to be continuous.)
The application and supporting documents may be submitted no earlier than 6 months before and no later than 6 months after the
expiration of the certificate.
