Industrial component manufacturers, manufacturing industry, mechanical engineers, system integrators, plant operators, energy suppliers, operators of critical infrastructure, maintenance, production technicians, plant planners and plant technicians, plant electricians, operating personnel of machines, persons responsible for plant IT, future plant managers and production managers.
The admission requirements for the certification exam are
- Proof of successful completion of the “Certified OT Security Technical Expert TÜV® (COSTE)” training offered by TÜV AUSTRIA Academy or an equivalent program
- relevant work experience of at least 6 months, averaging at least 20 hours per week in combination with examination and certification as “Certified OT Security Practitioner TÜV® (COSP)” from TÜV AUSTRIA Academy
The certification exam takes place after the end of the seminar and is a written exam (single choice questions).
Upon successful completion of the certification examination and fulfillment of all admission requirements, candidates will be awarded the TÜV AUSTRIA Personal Certificate Certified OT Security Technical Expert TÜV® (COSTE), which is valid for three years.

To extend your certificate for another three years, you need to present:
- the application for recertification
- Proof of a specialist training with a scope of at least eight teaching units; alternatively a written test.
- Practical proof of regular subject-specific work of at least two years; alternatively an oral exam
The application and supporting documents may be submitted no earlier than 6 months before and no later than 6 months after the expiration of the certificate.
